By building the Brebex solar power plant, we will directly contribute to the preservation and improvement of the quality of the environment. By using the sun as a renewable energy source, with the application of clean technology and the production of efficient and sustainable energy, we will influence the reduction of emissions of harmful, polluting substances.
This SPP will supply an average of 99,000 households per year with its full capacity.
SPP Brebex actively contributes to the development of the local community and the broader region where it will be constructed, through participation in local initiatives, events, and internal projects of local governments, as well as through other forms of support.
In its operation, Brebex ltd relies on the legislation of the Republic of Serbia and cooperation with all relevant institutions, with the indispensable application of good practice experiences from EU member states for the implementation of similar projects.
Comprehensive biodiversity monitoring was carried out across the entire area of the planned SPP Brebex, as well as within the connection complex to the transmission system. An expert assessment of the natural values of the SPP Brebex area was also prepared, including an impact assessment and proposed measures for the preservation and enhancement of biological diversity.
In addition, archaeological field surveys were conducted, and a Study on the Protection of immovable cultural heritage was prepared for the entire SPP complex area.
In line with the highest international standards, an ESIA study – Environmental and Social Impact Assessment was prepared. The study provided a comprehensive overview of the impacts and assessments of all aspects of potential effects of projects of this type, including monitoring of birds and bats, biodiversity, habitats, noise, landscape, and other ecological criteria, as well as a range of socio-economic factors.
